Sam loves making people happy. Mostly because he's just generally nice, but also because he enjoys showing off and being the centre of attention. So when he has the chance to arrange something nice for Lauri-Ell, who absolutely deserves nice things, he goes big.
He's also hoping he can mid-way transition it into a date because she's ridiculously cute.
Once he got the go-head, he conjures Lauri to his side. It's surprisingly easy, as long as the target is willing. One second she's confirming she's ready for transport, the next time and space cease to mean much. A slight feeling like falling for a half-second and then boots on a rooftop. An orange rooftop, with a smooth texture and subtle curve. Six jutting out such peaks, meeting at a central point that rises up, but a thick green column below holding the whole strange structure up. Several other buildings of varying designs, minimalist and elaborate but each very colourful, are all around.
He doesn't say it, he wants to see how long it takes for her to notice they're standing on a petal and all the buildings are colossal flowers. The lovely sweet scent is probably the most prominent first clue, considering the scale.
"So good to see you!" Y greets, performing an old fashioned bow. One hand on his chest, the other sweeping his cape behind him. His one eye twinkling with excitement and a bright smile. "Any time will feel too short, but how long am I graced with your presence?"

"Yes, isn't it? It's one of those mysteries that bring joy I was telling you about." He sweeps an arm out, to gesture for her to look around, take things in. He takes a deep, pleased breath of the sweet smell as he does. Lovely. "For example, what do you think that structure is for?"
He steps in beside her and points towards the centre of the flower, where a branching red stamen rises up.
